Much has been written about Corsairs Dominator memory. These chips have been handtested to the lowest latencies and highest voltages around. To round it off, the casing design draws heat from the centre of the PCB as well as the surface of the chips t...

Huge memory bandwidth doesnt deliver performance benefits in Core 2 Duo or Athlon 64 PCs, so the benefit of Corsairs 1,111MHz RAM is limited, especially considering its terrifying £470 price tag. Theres simply no way these modules are worth this am...

In the never-ending battle to get the fastest speeds and lowest timings, RAM manufacturers are being forced to create improved cooling methods. Plain old heatsinks were never intended to support the extreme speeds and voltages that overclockers always...

On Monday evening of last week, Corsair briefed us on its newest memory modules. Word of these had slipped out a little earlier than initially intended, but Corsair shifted things up a gear to get the press up to speed on this exciting new product and...
  • Weve shown today that Corsairs new Dominator TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF is the fastest memory product available. At the time of writing weve seen nothing that can compete with it. However, the increased bandwidth and tight latencies dont seem to give muc...

As you can see, the lineup has a very pronounced, aggressive look indeed. The heat spreaders (or heats sinks as Corsair likes to call them) still look very nice in my opinion, but may be over the top for some who like a more sober look.

DDR2 memory has come a long way from its humble beginnings as just a few DRAM chips on a sliver of green PCB. Now, memory isnt memory unless it has extravagant cooling systems and reaches insane clock speeds.

Today we look at Corsairs TWIN2X2048-8888 high speed low latency DDR2 memory modules. Memory modules have to be rated at least PC8000 for us to consider them high performance - dont get me wrong, a low latency PC6400 module is still a good performer...
  • The Corsair TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF ended up meeting its claimed specifications, and in that, it lived up to the high standards I hold Corsair to after the excellent results Ive gotten in the past from their PC8500 and PC8000 modules. Will another manufa...
